The Wedge Sneaker Takeover

So I've been obsessed over wedge sneakers for quite some time (see previous post here). I think it comes from my years of collecting Nike Dunks for so long - but nevertheless, the trend is still here, and I have to say - I'm really excited about it. Read More

Tiramisu Pancakes

Ok so I've been obsessed with trying to make these Tiramisu Pancakes that I saw on Pinterest (first made on the amazing Ivory Hut blog). If you want to make it the real way, make sure to check out her blog - her pictures are outstanding and put mine to shame, but there are so many great recipes to be inspired by. Read More

The Cute Palm Springs

Thanks to Coachella weekend (and Lamb & Flag for sending me!) - I had the opportunity to really explore the "Cute" Palm Springs (with the lovely Aimee of Swellmayde of course)! I say the "Cute" Palm Springs only because I've been here a handful of times before this trip and never really got to explore the finer details this palmy desert has to offer. You all know my obsession with mid-century modern furniture, design, and style. I honestly feel like I'm living in the 21st century but with the soul of someone living in the 40's or 60's (if you get what I mean). Read More

Summer Style

Say what you will about the GAP (they've gone through a lot of styles over the years) - but I can always count on them for my basics and their recent ads collaborating with the stylists from Who What Wear, Rue, & Lookbook.nu have given me some great ideas for classic Summer Style. Read More

Family Portrait

I posted this last week on the @sunnysideofgray Instagram - out first official Family Portrait! (Well sort of) :) I had been getting an influx of images on my Instagram feed about Coachella so the hubby suggested we celebrate Couchella! "Genius!" I say, "Just Genius!" - so we thought it would be funny to just take a couple of impromptu shots with the pups and it became our very own Family Portrait, Couchella, Puppy Festival (the best festival there is). Here are some of the outtakes before we got to the final one up above! Read More

The Venice Canals

More weekend adventures with the hubby, and this time, we finally got the chance to check out the Venice Canals. I've really only seen it in the movies and it's even more amazing in person - I urge anyone visiting LA to go and see them. It's like a mini Italian hideaway tucked away next to the mid-century modern style of Venice Beach! The houses and gardens were amazing, so perfectly unique and quaint, it's no wonder these are million dollar homes. It was a Sunny Sunday so we couldn't have asked for better weather and sunlight. Seriously Derek Lam

So I have finally found a little miniscule bit of time to actually look through the Fall 2012 RTW shows - and there definitely is a trend in what I directly gravitate towards and it's obviously 10 Crosby by Derek Lam's line - it's so fresh, colorful, full of texture. I am now always going to be looking forward to each season, and wishing I had all of his pieces in my closet. Read More

A Natural Medium

I've always been drawn to the natural medium of kraft paper. There's something so simple and elegant about it - when I do any graphic work (when I actually find the time - I wish I had more of it so I could wrap myself up in a cool graphics project), kraft paper is probably one of the first things I turn to. My design aesthetic is very clean BUT also very "kraft"-y - see previous print work here, here, and here :) Here are some of the latest designs that inspire me. Read More

Inspired by Clarissa

I couldn't resist - but with my printed pants craze (see previous post), I started reminiscing about all the cool 90's shows I used to watch, Blossom, Saved by the Bell, and the topic of today's post - Clarissa Explains it All. Her quirky, rock n roll inspired outfits were always super fun and colorful (and I LOVE color as you know)! Her whole wardrobe was full of 90's floral tops, polka dot leggings, tons of plaid, and crazy pop colors. Read More

Printed Pants

So if you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that my current obsession as of late are printed pants (mainly of the floral variety) but I'm not picky :) I think there's something that reminds me of 6th grade when I used to live in my printed floral/railroad stripe overalls (yes, I really did). It's a mix of 70's but a little bit of 90's - now styled in today's "blog-crazed" mindset. It's popping up all over the place - but these 3 are in current rotation for me. Read More

Spring Cleaning

It's about that time of the year! It's warming up just a bit, so I've been working on editing my tiny apartment closet to only the essentials for Spring. With daylight savings finally hitting us, we'll have sunnier and longer days (even though I'm always bummed I'm losing an hour of sleep). Time to get organized! Read More

Florals, Chiffon, and Studs, Oh My

I'm loving the new Zara Spring '12 lookbook for March! There's something always collectively inspiring about Zara each season - this time around it's cool abstract florals, delicate chiffons edged up with studded collars, and the most amazingly draped fringe dresses. I'm inspired to find somewhere to wear these styles too, but until then I can just look in awe at each piece. Read More

Insta-Sunny

Social media is out of control, let's just admit it. With the likes of Facebook, the twittering tweets of Twitter (say THAT five times fast), super techy plus 1's on Google +, the intimate and narrow Path, tumbling through Tumblr, and the pinning craze of Pinterest, one can only wonder if their head will explode from all the clutter. For me, there is a method to the madness - I DO WHAT I LOVE and I find a passion in sharing my positivity through any medium I can! Read More

The Heart of Life

An optimistic view of NYC - the city where things just happen. I took my hubby on a weekend getaway to New York when I was living in Philly. What began as a project to film the sights of the city, became an adventure when he captured the many different scenes of life that isn't always displayed by the media...every day people, walking the city streets, taking their dogs for walks, sliding through Central Park, pretty much "just living". It's amazing what you can uncover! NYC will always have a place in my heart. Read More

Cute & Happy Things

I'm always enamored by cute and happy things - hence my love for Pinterest. I'm always finding the best inspiration there and the layout is easy on the eyes which I like too. Just a few fun finds - some mottos for life, sunny beaches, NYC in the 50's, a little Audrey and Alexa (my fave A's), and some pops of pink and glitter doesn't hurt! Read More
