Everytime I head down to Encinitas - I immediately find a new thing to fall in love with (see previous post here).  This time it was Union Kitchen & Tap, a relatively new restaurant/bar (just opened last May) with such character for downtown Encinitas, that we had to stop in.  It's quality food, quality beers, and quality scenery.  The perfect way to lunch on a Saturday hanging with good friends on the beautiful PCH.

loved the menu typography!

I wish we were a little bit hungrier, because we would have definitely tried more things on the menu!  Chicken and waffles, home made beignets, just amazingly worded comfort food that will make you salivate.  We ended up ordering the burger which was delicious!!

we had the union burger with smoked bacon and cheddar cheese!

I'm also not a fan of ketchup, but this tomato puree was surprisingly the perfect fit.  All an all, an awesome visit - I'm sure we'll be there again very soon (holiday party maybe?) :)
