One of my favorite brunch spots in LA - Joan's on Third feels like a quaint New York cafe and marketplace in the center of the bustling 3rd street in LA.  The ambience is so french industrial chic - an aesthetic I've really grown to love by the way - and it's always busy and full of lively people.  I'm always looking for new foodie finds, but Joan's just feels comfortable, so we're always revisiting and taking new friends there.  

Joan's is very reminiscent of another fave - Dean and Deluca in NYC - so every visit makes me miss New York just a bit - but in a good way, channeling the optimistic and bright life that exists there.

My absolute favorite (but forewarning *very heavy*) - is the short rib sandwich with bread and butter pickles.  It's a must try!  I just love everything about this place - hope you do too :)
