Time and time again, Derek Lam executes effortless yet forward direction through his 10 Crosby line and this time it's for Resort 2013!  I've been following the line since last Spring - see posts here and here, and I'm never disappointed.  The way he creates this downtown, city, on the move "but I look flawless" look always begs for a double take.  

I'll be taking this inspiration into my own closet very very soon :)

Being in the fashion industry, Resort is one of my favorite seasons to design.  Sure I have a soft spot for the layers of Fall and am always ready for the pop colors of Spring, but Resort creates this magical oasis type of collection.  

It always launches towards the end of December and kind of started as this elitist way of offering women resort and vacation worthy pieces that are lightweight, beautiful, and reminiscent of traveling through the tropics or the cote d'azur in the winter months.  But I feel like it's become much more than that - it's a way to bring in an optimistic palette cleanser when winter feels so cold.  Also, it's a great way to see what's trending come Spring!
